Esther Afua Ocloo: Ghananian Entrepreneur and Business Woman

Esther “Auntie Ocloo” Afua Ocloo- (April 18, 1919-February 8, 2002)- Ghanaian entrepreneur and businesswoman who began entrepreneurship in the 1930s as a teen with less than a dollar.  A pioneer of micro-lending, the practice of creating small loans to grow businesses, Mrs. Ocloo co-founded the micro-lending organization, Women’s World Banking (WWB). Her service in women’s empowerment and economic stability earned her the African Prize For Leadership in 1990.

Welcome To The Alpha Woman!

Hi, My Name is R. Vette (aka The Alpha Woman) I would like to take this time to give you a personal welcome to my new blog. I am a young black mompreneur who began my entrepreneurial journey a year ago (2016) as a virtual assistant. After a year of an unsuccessful job search and strapped with student loan debt, I thought "Why not go for my dream to be an entrepreneur, what do I have to loose." I wanted to join the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs in the nation, black women. 

My resume includes 20 years of experience in writing, proofreading, editing, and research/web research skills. Then, I have 2 years of experience in blogging and blog setup on Word press and Tumblr and basic social media skills on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. Lastly, I have 3 years of experience in resume writing. 

I created this blog to share my entrepreneurial journey with readers and to provide tips, tools, and women creatresses and entrepreneurs in her story (women's history) and other valuable information for the 21st-century woman (and girl) of color who have a dream and the will to embark on their entrepreneurial journey. My hope is that the information that I provide for you on this blog will jump start you on the road to success......and beyond!
